近代建築史特論（Modern Architectural History）[4215]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な到達目標＞

国内外の近代建築のデザイン手法と空間構成に関する歴史的な動向について、近代建築史に関する主要な著書の輪講を通して学びます。
そして、国内外の近代建築に関する重要な建築理論を習得した上で、現代における意義や再評価について考察することを目標とします。

Students learn historical trends related to the design methods and spatial composition of modern architecture in Japan and abroad by reading important writings on the history of modern architecture in turn.
After learning the important architectural theories on modern architecture in Japan and abroad, students will consider their significance and reassess them in the present context.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

授業は輪講形式で行う。以下に輪講予定図書の概要を示すが、輪講の範囲や進め方は履修登録が完了してから決定する。
1. 19世紀における近代建築思想／新しい形態の探求、装飾という問題
2. 合理主義、技術の伝統、鉄筋コンクリート／イギリス、アメリカのアーツ・アンド・クラフツ理念
3. 機械化への反応−ドイツ工作連盟と未来派／フランク・ロイド・ライトの建築体系
4. キュビズムと新しい空間概念／ル・コルビュジェ−理想形態を求めて

6. 摩天楼と郊外−戦間期アメリカ／理想のコミュニティ
7. インターナショナル・スタイル−才人たちと機能主義の神話／ポワシィのサヴォア邸−ル・コルビュジェのイメージと理想
8. 1930年代のライトとル・コルビュジェ／近代運動に対する全体主義からの評価
9. イギリスとスカンジナビアへの近代建築の波及／伝統の継続
10. アメリカにおける近代建築−移入と定着／ル・コルビュジェの晩年の作品における形態と意味
11. マルセイユのユニテ・ダビタシオン−集合住宅のプロトタイプ／アルヴァ・アアルトとスカンジナビアの伝統

Students will read and summarize the texts in turn in class. A list of the selected texts is as follows. The range of reading assigned to each student and method of conducting the class will be decided when the students’ course registrations are completed.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

輪講形式の発表内容によって評価する。評価値が合計60点以上の者に単位を認める。

Students will be graded based on evaluation of their presentations. An evaluation score of 60 and over will be required to get a credit.
