＜授業のねらい及び具体的な到達目標＞

プレゼンテーションおよび講評を英語で行なうことで、具体的な建築物の設計やプロジェクト等の設計課題を通して英語のスキルアップとコミュニケーション能力を身につける。

This course is offered in English with the intent of improving speaking and listening ability of the students through presentation and critique. The students are expected to solve a specific design problem which will be assigned on the first day of class.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

夏休みの約２週間を利用した短期集中型の建築設計スタジオである。授業スケジュールは週２回から３回を原則としているが、これは常に設計を考えるマインドを養う目的である。毎回準備作業として設計図を作成のうえ講評を受けることが原則であるが、授業時間の一部を作業時間とする場合もある。

An intensive design studio offered for a two-week period during summer. The studio will meet two to three times a week in order to ensure continual design work among students. The students are expected to prepare drawings for each class for review, but part of the class may be spent for actual design work.

第１回　２限集中　課題説明。

第２回　３限集中　コンセプトメーキング、基本構想。プレゼンテーション、講評、設計作業を行う。

第３回　３限集中　コンセプトをかたちにする。プレゼンテーション、講評、設計作業を行う。

第４回　３限集中　中間プレゼンテーション。

第５回　３限集中　建築としてまとめあげる。プレゼンテーション、講評。

第６回　２限集中　最終プレゼンテーション。

第７回　学習内容の振り返り。

Day 1 Two-frames: Introducing and explaining the design problem

Day 2 Three time-frames: Concept making and schematic design; Presentation, critique, and design work

Day 3 Three time-frames: Generating architectural form and concept; Presentation, critique, and design work

Day 4 Three time-frames: Mid review

Day 5 Three time-frames: Completing design; Presentation, critique, and design work

Day 6 Two time-frames: Final presentation

Day 7 Reviewing the course

デザインクオリティーと途中のプロセスや発表内容を加味しながら、総合的に評価する。
