△Writing in English Basic I[5L06]

＜授業のねらい＞

本科目では、英語の基礎的なライティング技術を習得する。想定されるコンテクスト（場面）としては、学会発表の応募のためのアブストラクト執筆や論文執筆などのアカデミックな場面およびプロジェクトの企画書作成などのビジネスコミュニケーションの場面の２種類があり、そのどちらも扱っていく。
Students will practice basic writing skills in English for academic, project-oriented, and business communication purposes. Assignments will include structural organization (sentences, paragraphs, essays) and specific forms of writing (report and essay, summary, abstract, paraphrasing, and résumé).

＜受講にあたっての前提条件＞

1、2年生の必修英語科目で学習した内容（特にBasic Academic English I およおびII）の内容が習得できていること。指定された課題をこなせる英語力があること。
Students should have basic communication skills in English. Classes will be conducted in English and assignments will be explained in English.

＜具体的な到達目標＞

自分が興味を持っている一般的な話題について、400 words程度の小論文が書けること。具体的には英語の「段落の基本的な構成」「小論文の基本的な構成」を理解し、「意見」「問題提起と解決提案」「原因と結果」などを述べる文が書けるようになること。また、ビジネスコミュニケーションの場面についても、上記内容と同じくらいの難易度の課題を行う。
Students will learn how to write well-structured sentences and paragraphs, compose an essay of up to 400 words, and be able to write a summary, abstract, and résumé. There will be weekly homework assignments. At the end of the course, students should be able to write essays that express their opinions, describe cause and effect, and recommend solutions to problems.

Evaluation will be based on completion of written homework, class attendance and participation, and a final presentation that consists of a reading.
