<授業のねらい>
学会発表などのアカデミックな場面(およびビジネスコミュニケーションの場面)で、英語でプレゼンテーションを行う技術を身につける。
Students will learn presentation skills for academic and professional purposes. Skill areas include speech, body language (gestures, posture, eye contact, voice projection), visual organization, and writing. Presentation formats will include a flip chart, handouts, and Power Point presentations. The goal is to learn effective communication techniques while making a basic presentation.

<受講にあたっての前提条件>
½年次の必修英語科目(Basic English I/II, Basic Communication I/II, Basic Academic English I/II)で学んだ内容を理解していること。指定された課題をこなせる英語力があること。
Students should have completed basic English courses. Class activities will include pair-work and small group speaking exercises and giving solo presentations in English.

<具体的な到達目標>
ところどころ意思疎通に苦労しながらも、学外で専門分野について、15分程度の発表ができる。
Students will learn how to make basic presentations on a range of topics by practicing appropriate speech, using body language, and preparing easy-to-grasp visuals to support the message. Presentations will be approximately15 minutes long.

<成績評価方法>
Evaluation will be based on completion of the assignments, attendance and participation in class activities, and effectiveness of presentations.

<教科書>
No textbook is required for the 2nd semester. Prints will be distributed in class.

<参考書>
Students should organize all class prints in a folder and bring the folder and a dictionary to class.

Good presentation skills include persuasive speaking, well-organized visuals, appropriate body language, and confidence. We will work on all of these areas in order to give a great presentation.
