＜授業のねらい＞

This course will utilize an integrated skills approach with particular focus on reading; thus, students will improve their reading but also will improve their ability in English across the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).

None

＜具体的な到達目標＞

Students will develop variety of skills needed to enable them to become an autonomous and confident reader of English language material.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

Skills that will be given consideration are:
Weeks 1 through 4 reading for main ideas; reading for detailed information.
Weeks 5 through 9 inferring meaning from context; active reading; understanding and following English phrasing.
Weeks 10 through 14 internalization of read material.
Weeks 15 assessment.
There will be short in class readings and readings assigned for homework. Students will be required to demonstrate their understanding of texts in both oral and written form.

＜成績評価方法＞

Grades A+,A,B,C,D,F will be given based upon students’ performance [Homework（20%), course work（20%), projects/tests（30%) and aural-oral participation（30%)] . D or above will earn the credit.
