＜授業のねらい＞

The objective of the course is to encourage students to nurture their own opinions about their lives, culture, society, and politics using written and spoken English. This will be done through reading and writing assignments. Elements of reading and listening will also be included.

Collect right and useful information beforehand on the topics presented in the class.
Keep nurturing your own opininons on the topics.

To improve speaking, listening, reading, and writing ability,
plus, making a speech in public.

60 percent is for reading and writing, and 40 percent for speaking and listening.

1. Unit 8: News
Prep: read the rest of NEWS and collect facts and information on it.
2. Preparation for presentation on News.
Prep: Completion of writing, and presentation.
3. Presentation, discuttion, and evalution.
Prep: study vocabulary on TOEIC listening.
4. Listening practice: TOEIC Part 2 and 3 with mini test on it.
Prep: study vocabulary on TOEIC listening.
5. Listening practice: TOEIC Part 2 and 4 with mini test on it.

6. Reading: Nikkei Shinbun
Prep: read the rest of the material on Nikkei Shinbun.

＜成績評価方法＞

40%:abilities (test results), 30%:attitude, and 30%:attendance
Evaluation will be based on speech writing, two listening quizzes, two reading quizzes, class participation in speech discussion , and attendance.
