＜授業のねらい＞

The objective of the course is to encourage students to nurture their own opinions about their lives, culture, society, and politics using written and spoken English. This will be done through reading and writing assignments. Elements of reading and listening will also be included..

Collect right and useful information beforehand on the topics presented in the class.
Keep nurturing your own opininons on the topics.

To improve speaking, listening, reading, and writing ability,
plus, making a speech in public.

60 percent is for reading and writing, and 40 percent for speaking and listening.

1. Class purpose and rules. Unit 1: Introducing yourself　
Prep: read the rest of Unit 1
2. Sample writing analysis.
Prep: writing self-introduction for next week's presentation
3. Presentation of self-introduction, question and answers on it.
Prep: study vocabulary for TOEIC istening
4. Listening practice using TOEIC: Part 2 and 3. Mini test on it.
Prep: study vocabulary for TOEIC istening
5. Listening practice using TOEIC: Part 2 and 4. Mini test on it.
Prep: read Unit 4
6. Unit 4: SNS
Prep: collect facts and information on SNS.
7. Discussion on SNS. Writing rough drafts on SNS.
Prep: composition completion for presentation.
8. Presentation on SNS. Discussion and evaluation.
Prep: collect facts and information on Seven Eleven.
9. Reading: Seven Eleven.
Prep: study vocabulary for the material.

＜成績評価方法＞

40%:abilities (test results), 30%:attitude, and 30%:attendance
Evaluation will be based on speech writing, two listening quizzes, two reading quizzes, class participation in speech discussion , and attendance.
