○ライティングＩＩ（English Writing II）[5417]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students' abilities to produce written materials utilizing English writing structures. The students will begin by working on paragraph structure: topic sentence, supporting ideas, and concluding sentence, and progress to essay writing: introduction, body and conclusion. Various writing styles will also be given attention including: descriptive writing, argumentative writing, expository writing, business letters, and proposals. Reading materials will be used to model these writing structures and to build and reinforce vocabulary. The medium of instruction will be English so as to assist in building the students' oral and aural abilities.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

（前期）
最初の１週目は前置きとして、当方にて用意した資料を読む。
２週目から教科書を使用する。２週に１課位のペースで教科書を読み進め、前期は Unit 7 くらいまで進む予定。また、教科書以外にも、時々教材プリントを配布して読んでもらう。また、全員に課題作文を書いてもらって提出してもらうこともあるかも知れない。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

授業で使用した教材と授業内容を出題範囲として、学期末の最終授業週または定期試験期間に筆記試験を行なう。また、授業で作成した英作文をレポートとして提出してもらう。
前期試験を４０％、後期試験を４０％、レポートを２０％として、１００点満点で採点し、60点以上を取得した者を合格とする。
やむを得ない事情によって期末試験を受験できなかった者のためには追試験を行う。追試験も受験できなかった場合には、代替のレポートを課して、単位を与えることもある。

特に指定はしないが英語の辞書を用意されたし。（既に持っている人はあらためて購入する必要はない。）

＜オフィスアワー＞

金曜日の授業の合間の時間にはたいてい講師室にいる。昼休みはラーメン屋「味よし」に居ることが多い。
緊急時の連絡用に電子メールのアドレスを用意したが、ここに書くと迷惑メール業者に悪用されるので、アドレスは後日伝達する。

＜学生へのメッセージ＞

英語の辞書を毎回持参してほしい。辞書を引く手間を惜しんではいけない。
