＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The objective of the course is to encourage students to communicate about their lives, culture, and interests using written and spoken English. This will be done through speaking practice and short writing assignments. Elements of reading and listening will also be included.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

Classes will alternate with sections in the “Ready to Write 1” textbook; including grammar, sentence construction, paragraph writing basics. Speaking practice using topics of interest for the students, listening exercises with quizzes, and reading exercises.
The instructor will supply all speaking, listening, and reading material.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

Writing: 40%, Speaking and class participation 40%, reading and listening 20%
The class will have two speaking tests and a final writing project.
ATTENDANCE
Absents - Students will fail on the fourth absence.
Lates - After more than 15 minutes late, students will be marked absent. Three lates will be
considered one absent.
