＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The goal of this course is to help students build their general English knowledge. The course will give students a chance to practice and improve all four English skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) with a focus on input (reading, listening) and building basic English knowledge. Students will study and discuss a variety of different topics from reading passages and audio/video material as well as useful information for everyday conversational situations.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

Students will work in pairs and in small groups to carry out short tasks in English and to practice various elements of the target language. Each lesson will consist of reading material and/or audio-visual material that will introduce new vocabulary and grammar and set the focus for activities and discussion. Vocabulary development will be a key aspect of this course.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

Grading will be based on four main elements:
1) attendance, attitude and participation;
2) homework and assignments
3) a midterm test; and
4) a final exam.
