○Reading Skills in English IA[3334]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students, general reading abilities in English. The focus will be on developing basic comprehension skills: identifying topics, supporting ideas and conclusions. In order to achieve this, the structural Formations of short readings will be analyzed. Attention will be given to enhancing the students, scanning techniques to identify key points and to increasing the students’ reading speeds. Students will be expected to display their skills in the above techniques in English, both orally and in written form.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

授業は、メインのテキスト『Premium Reader』(金星堂)とトイック対策の副教材を中心に進めていく。
テキストは、基本的に2週に1ユニットのペースで進めていく予定。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

評価は、学期末試験を計70点満点、平常点(授業態度、出席、小テストなど)を30点満点とし、合計60点以上で合格とする。ただし、各学期4回以上欠席した場合、履修放棄とみなし評価対象外とする。授業中の携帯電話の使用は、その場で最終成績から減点する。

毎回、紙の辞書か電子辞書を持参すること。携帯電話の辞書機能は厳禁。授業では、黙読だけでなく、音読も重視する。随時必要に応じてプリントを配布する。
