＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), Interactive English A will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: greetings and introductions, initial conversations, discerning basic information in everyday settings/survival English (dining, shopping, hotels, transportation, directions).

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

授業の初回は、各自英語で自己紹介をしてもらう。
それ以降は、Unit 1 New Friends, New Faces から始まって、Express Yourself, What do we need?など、それぞれのユニットを順次学習していく。
着実に記憶しているかどうかを毎回授業のはじめに口頭で発表してもらうので、しっかり覚えること。確認のために復習小テストを時々行う。
ゴールデンウィーク後、最初の授業で　休暇中の活動に関するスピーチをしてもらう。
文法事項としては、質問文、疑問文の作り方を確認する。
発音は発表準備の段階および発表中でも随時指導する。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

原則として定期試験で最終成績を評価する。その他課題の提出状況、授業への貢献度、なども評価の対象となる。合格点は６０点。欠席多数の学生については評価の対象とならないことがある。
