△Reading for Discussion[5D02]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

In this one-semester class, students will have the opportunity to improve both their English reading, and discussion skills. Students will read current news articles, and develop the skill to comment on, and give opinions from a critical point of view, on a wide range of topics. Students who take this class, will also be expected to read novels outside class, and to recommend, and take part in discussions about, the stories they have read. Motivation, and a desire to express personal opinions, will ensure your success in this class.

This class will focus on participation, motivation and enthusiasm, rather than test results. It is essential that students attend class regularly and take an active role in each class to be successful. We will work hard but the classroom atmosphere will be relaxed and fun. Come to this class to improve your reading and discussion skills, and build the confidence to give opinions on a variety of topics.
