○Basic Writing Skills II[1463]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The objective of the course is to encourage students to communicate about their lives, culture, and interests using written English. Elements of speaking, reading and listening, will also be included.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

Each class period will cover sections of the first four chapters in the “Ready to Write 1” textbook. Covered in each chapter will be; a grammar guide with related sentence construction practice, paragraph writing basics with practice writing, sample writing activities, and writing about student real live experiences. This will all be geared to a final essay writing assignment.

I will give as much individual help as possible to each student while they are doing the chapter work.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

50% of students’ grades will be based on the results of the final writing project at the end of the semester, and 50% on class participation using the writing textbook.
Students’ grades will be based on the results of the final examination at the end of
the semester. The examination will be based on all the chapters covered for the semester.

ATTENDANCE
Absents - Students will fail on the fourth absence.
Lates - After more than 15 minutes late, students will be marked absent. Three lates will be
considered one absent.
