○Introduction to Communicative English I[2402]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The objective of the course is to encourage students to communicate about their lives, culture, and interests using English. The students will work in pairs and groups and learn how to initiate and contribute to conversations. Elements of reading and listening, will also be included.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

Each class period will cover one section of the first four chapters in the “Expressways 3” textbook. Covered in each section will be; simple grammar constructions, a short listening section, close questions using the grammatical items, a sample speaking dialog, speaking practice situations, and additional speaking questions based on the students own experiences.

I will converse with each pair or group of students during each class in addition to explaining any questions they might have.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

50% of students's grades will be based on the results of the final examination at the end of the semester, and 50% on class participation.

ATTENDANCE
Absents - Students will fail on the fourth absence.
Lates - After more than 15 minutes late, students will be marked absent. Three lates will be
considered one absent.
