＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

This course is a tutorial class where students will be provided with a structured learning environment in which they can utilize the skills that are being developed in Reading Skills in English IIA, and Essay Writing/Academic Writing A. The content of the course is at the discretion of the instructor.

＜授業計画及び準備学習＞

This class will operate mostly as a workshop. Students will practice their reading skills, writing skills, listening skills and speaking skills through task-based learning, both individually and in groups.
Weeks 1 through 5 will focus on basic skills such as fundamental grammar formations, vocabulary building, and daily English listening and speaking.
Weeks 6 through 10 will focus on student production in both written and oral form.
Weeks 11 through 14 will have students performing task oriented English production.
Week 15 will be for the final paper/project.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

Grades will be based on homework, short papers, quizzes, tests and class participation.

No textbook is required for this class.

＜オフィスアワー＞

Shinjuku Campus: Wednesdays & Thursdays lunch time and by appointment.

The purpose of this class is to improve your ability to use English in the four skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. To do this your participation in the class is essential. As you are learners of English, you are expected to make mistakes, so do not worry about mistakes. You should focus on practicing your English. If you do this, your English will improve.
