○英文ライティングＢ（English Writing B）[5128]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ abilities to produce written materials utilizing English writing structures. The students will begin by working on paragraph structure: topic sentence, supporting ideas, and concluding sentence, and progress to essay writing: introduction, body, and conclusion. Various writing styles will also be given attention including: descriptive writing, argumentative writing, expository writing, business letters, and proposals. Reading materials will be used to model these writing structures and to build and reinforce vocabulary. The medium of instruction will be English so as to assist in building the students’ oral and aural abilities.

＜授業計画＞

前期は、手紙・Eメール・FAX・書類・履歴書などの実用的な英文の書き方を学ぶ中で、文法や構文を意識しながら、一文単位で正確に書けるように練習します。
後期は、前期で学んだ基礎を発展させる形で、アカデミックな論文やプレゼンテーション用の原稿など、文章全体の構造を意識しながら、パラグラフ単位のまとまった英文を書く練習します。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

授業の出席率、発表、提出物、貢献度などの平常点と、定期試験の結果を総合して評価します。

プリントを適時配布します。

＜オフィスアワー＞

月曜日の1時限の後（八王子）、火曜日の3、4、5時限の前後（八王子）、金曜日の1、2時限の前後（新宿）。
これ以外にも随時アポイントを取って相談にきてください。

段階的に英文を書く技術を身につけていきましょう。辞書は必ず持参してください。
