○英文ライティングＢ（English Writing B）[5126]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ abilities to produce written materials utilizing English writing structures. The students will begin by working on paragraph structure: topic sentence, supporting ideas, and concluding sentence, and progress to essay writing: introduction, body, and conclusion. Various writing styles will also be given attention including: descriptive writing, argumentative writing, expository writing, business letters, and proposals. Reading materials will be used to model these writing structures and to build and reinforce vocabulary. The medium of instruction will be English so as to assist in building the students’ oral and aural abilities.

＜授業計画＞

前期にひき続き、英文ライティングに必要な文法や構文を学習しながら、ネイティブ・スピーカーが書く自然な英語表現の習得を目指します。地味な作業ですが、「予習・授業・復習」の3点を大切にすること。特に、学習した英文を暗記するという「インプット」は、英文を自然に「アウトプット」するのに大変役立ちます。こつこつ…必ず力がつきます。

＜テキスト＞
テキストは、前期と同様に、毎回次のような形で進められます。

1. 予習：テキストの3頁の予習。徹底的に調べて全てを解答し、授業前に提出
2. 授業：発表（学生）と解説（教師）
3. 復習：授業で行った3頁（12英文）を暗記し、小テストに備える（合格は6割以上）

＜プリント＞
１．文法：テキストの内容に応じて、さらなる基礎力の定着を図ります
２．表現：テキストの表現や文法事項を生かしながら、様々なことを英語で表現していきます

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

評価は、小テストの合計と定期試験を総計して、60％以上を合格とします。ただし、平均が僅かに60点に満たない場合でも、真面目に取り組み努力していると認められる場合には、合格とすることもあります。
なお、定期試験等も含めて、全授業数の3分の1以上を欠席した場合は、定期試験を受けても単位を取得することはできません。遅刻は3回で1回の欠席になります。
