<授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標>
The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general reading abilities in English. The focus will be on developing basic comprehension skills: identifying topics, supporting ideas and conclusions. In order to achieve this, the structural formations of short readings will be analyzed. Attention will be given to enhancing the students’ scanning techniques to identify key points and to increasing the students’ reading speeds. Students will be expected to display their skills in the above techniques in English, both orally and in written form.

<授業計画>

This class is a combination of 4 aspects of reading: Reading for pleasure, reading skills, thinking skills, and reading faster. Each week students will work on ALL of these skills.
