○Interactive English B[2135]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The methodology utilized in this course has been developed from research being conducted at Kogakuin University and is termed “Hodological Mapping.” This method entails students forming an internalized system of communicative patterns derived from the culture of the target language (for a detailed explanation of the above, see A Study on Building an Efficient System and Philosophy of Language Learning for Engineering Students in Annual Report No. 11 (2003/2004) Research Institute of Sciences and Technology, Kogakuin University). Interactive English B will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: intercultural communication (critical thinking applied to cross-cultural communication), discussion of social issues, problem solving, and working in English.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

期末試験を40%、小テスト、課題、授業参加態度の合計を60%とし、60点以上を合格とする。ただし、
出席が3分の2に満たないものは、点数の如何に関わらず単位を認定しない。

授業は基本的に英語で行います。英語力を向上させるためには、準備をして授業に出席し、授業中積極的に英語を使うことが大切です。最も重要なことは、間違うことをおそれず、たくさん間違いをおかして、その間違いから学ぶことです。
