○Basic Reading Skills I[3314]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

この授業では、学生の英語運用能力を４技能（listening・speaking・reading・writing）すべての側面から、総合的に英語コミュニケーション能力を伸ばすことを目標としている。授業では、主として英語で読む活動に重点をおく。スキャニングやスキミング、トピックの把握などの練習を通して、読んでいる文章のトピックを見つけ、それを支持する文を理解し、結論へたどりつく、リーディングプロセスの習得を目指す。また、このような活動を通して、基礎から応用まで幅広く英語の文法や語彙を習得することも望まれる。

＜授業計画＞

This course will focus on improving your skills in reading, understanding and discussing English texts. We will move quickly each week through textbook readings and small group discussions. Bring your textbook to class every week and be prepared to read, interact, and discuss issues and topics.
