＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ abilities to utilize basic English language formations. Focus will be on formal and colloquial grammar formations necessary for communication through English in common place situations. Reading materials will be used to model these language formations and to build and reinforce vocabulary. The medium of instruction will be English so as to assist in building the students’ oral and aural abilities.

英語で文章を書くためには、英語の語彙や文法を覚えるだけでは十分ではありません。このコースでは、さらに一歩進んで英語の論理構成を学びます。

＜授業計画＞

前期は、まず語彙・文法を確認しながら、センテンス単位の英文を正しく書くことから始めます。こうして表現力を鍛え、次第にできるだけ多く書けるようにします。最終的には、ひとまとまりのアイディアを英語で表現できるよう練習します。ライティング中心の授業ですが、読む、聞く、話す練習も行います。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

定期試験(50%)と授業中の演習(50%)を総合し、60点以上を合格点とします。
