＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English I” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: greetings and introductions, initial conversations, discerning basic information in everyday settings/survival English (dining, shopping, hotels, transportation settings, directions etc.).

授業は以下に示した教科書を使用します。前期数回は今後の授業を円滑にするために発音記号の学習を行います。前期はテキストのUnit8までを目標にします。授業はテキストのみではなく，こちらで準備する教材を用いてListeningの力を養成します。また映像を用いた授業も予定しています。

学期末のテスト(70点)及び(予告なしで実施する)小テスト(30点)で評価します。小テストは5回実施する予定です。出席点は考慮に入れません。
