＜授業計画＞

In this course students will be required to read short stories for homework in order to prepare for the class discussions. The discussions in class will progress from specific discussions on theme, narrative, and characters, to general discussions of the assignment's relevance to world issues and specific relationships between the individual and the content of the assignment. The purpose of this type of class format is to provide all participants in the class with a common starting point that will still allow myriad topics to arise. Video material will also be utilized to provide this common starting point. High contact time with English in order to provide the much needed practice in the target language will take precedence over grammatical details.

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

Grades will be based on homework, short papers, quizzes, tests and class participation.

Therefore, completion of all homework assignments is necessary. As you are learners of English, you are expected to make mistakes, so do not worry about mistakes.
