○Introduction to Communicative English II[1327]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English II” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: intercultural communication (critical thinking applied to cross-cultural communication), discussion of social issues, problem solving/working in English, forming a hodological map of the target language.

＜授業計画＞

中学、高校時で習得した英語の4技能をさらに発展させることを目的とするが、「読解力」と「聴力」がないことには意見も述べることができないし、書くこともできないので、読解とリスニングの2本柱を軸としたい。
より具体的には、「読解」は正確に文法や構成を把握しながら英文を読みこなす細やかな読解と、速いスピードで大まかに全体像を把握できる速読を組み合わせて授業を進める。また、リスニングに関しては、全体を大まかに把握でき、TOEICにも対応できるような練習と、きちんと一語一語を聴き取るDictationの練習をする。
以上の2分野を中心に、学生の理解度、得意不得意の度合いに応じて、進めていく。
　
　

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

学期末の試験によって評価します。前期、後期の授業時試験（100点満点）の平均点が60点以上のものを合格とする。出席点の足りないものは、名簿より削除します。
