○Introduction to Communicative English I[3419]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English I” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: greetings and introductions, initial conversations, discerning basic information in everyday settings/survival English (dining, shopping, hotels, transportation settings, directions etc.).

＜授業計画＞

テキストを毎週一課ずつ進めてゆく。
また、口頭でのコミュニケーション能力とリスニング能力向上のため、随時プリントを配布し、
語彙や表現力の強化を図る。
また、テレビやラジオのニュース番組、ドラマ、映画、音楽なども取り入れ、最新の時事問題や
英語圏の文化についても学ぶ。

毎回、全員が指名される。予習は必須である。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

平常のクラスでの演習結果、小テスト、課題を５０％、期末試験を５０％として、成績評価を行う。
６０点以上が合格である。ただし、総合評価が僅かに６０点未満の者にはレポート課題を与える。
レポート内容が単位認定相当と判断される場合には最終成績を６０点とする。

毎回必ず辞書を持参すること。
