○Basic Reading Skills I[4415]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general reading abilities in English. The focus will be on developing basic comprehension skills: identifying topics, supporting ideas and conclusions. In order to achieve this, the structural formations of short readings will be analyzed. Attention will be given to enhancing the students’ scanning techniques to identify key points and to increasing the students’ reading speeds. Students will be expected to display their skills in the above techniques in English, both orally and in written form.

＜授業計画＞

1)基本文法の復習　2)主文と従属文の区別　3)主述の区別　4)構造別モデル文を使用しての構造パターン学習　5)展開を表す言葉　を重点的に学習する。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

定期テストで60点を超えること。また、特例として60点に僅差で満たない場合でも課題の提出状況、確認テスト、小テストの成績などにより進展が見られれば考慮する場合もある。
