○Introduction to Communicative English II[1124]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English II” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: intercultural communication (critical thinking applied to cross-cultural communication), discussion of social issues, problem solving/working in English, forming a hodological map of the target language.

＜授業計画＞

This course is a continuation of the first semester’s course, again utilizing communicative teaching methodologies to improve all four skills in English. We will move quickly each week through textbook grammar sections, listening passages, discussions and presentations. Bring your textbook to class every week and be prepared to interact and discuss issues. There will also be regular homework set from the additional homework workbook.
