○Introduction to Communicative English II[1212]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English II” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: intercultural communication (critical thinking applied to cross-cultural communication), discussion of social issues, problem solving/working in English, forming a phonological map of the target language.

＜授業計画＞

主に教科書に沿って授業を進めるが、必要に応じてハンドアウトを利用する。
リスニング・演習問題・グループワーク等を通して、異文化理解や時事問題について学習する。
授業毎に小テストを行い、アクティビティの成果として適宜発表や課題の提出を行う。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

期末試験結果を40%、授業で課される小テスト・課題・宿題等の結果を60%の割合とする。
総合して60%以上を合格とする。
