○Introduction to Communicative English II[2308]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English II” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: intercultural communication (critical thinking applied to cross-cultural communication), discussion of social issues, problem solving/working in English, forming a hodological map of the target language.

＜授業計画＞

前期と同じように、世界のビジネス界で使われているテーマ別の英語表現を学習する。テープを使ってlistening comprehensionの訓練をした後で、それぞれ設定された問題に英語で答える訓練を行う。更に、１９６０−１９７０年代のポップソングを聴いて英語の発音練習を行う。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

定期試験（配分６０％）を期末に行う。更に、毎回、プリントを使用して、listening comprehension の小テスト（配分４０％）行い成績を評価する。
