○Introduction to Communicative English I[2305]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English I” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: greetings and introductions, initial conversations, discerning basic information in everyday settings/survival English (dining, shopping, hotels, transportation settings, directions etc.).

国際ビジネス、マスメディア界で使用される英語表現を中心に学習する。テーマ・ジャンルは、1人の国際ビジネスマンとして国際ビジネスの舞台で活躍するに当たって、「自己紹介」「会社紹介」「電話の応答」「名刺の効用」「株式の読み方」「企業」「販売拡張」「注文」「入札・落札」「顧客の対応」「不平を言う」「長期経営戦略」「営業権を勝ち取る」「知的財産の保護」等に及ぶ。TOEIC 500-550点を目指す。

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

定期試験（配分６０％）を期末に行う。さらに毎回、プリントを使用して、listening comprehension　の小テスト（配分４０％）を行う。出席は授業回数の３分の２以上を必要とする。
