○Introduction to Communicative English I[2304]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English I” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: greetings and introductions, initial conversations, discerning basic information in everyday settings/survival English (dining, shopping, hotels, transportation settings, directions etc.).

＜授業計画＞

原則として２回の授業で、１科づつ仕上げていく予定です。しかしながら皆さんの理解度を常に確認しながら、着実に進めていきます。英語が苦手の学生さんもおられるかも知れませんが、英語はやり方次第で伸びていくものです。合理的な方法で進めて行きます。なおこの授業では、必ず試験答案は返却します。少なくとも今までは必ず実行して来ました。何故ならば返却された答案を検討しながら、自己の弱点を知り合理的な勉強方法を見つけてもらいたいからです。
