○Introduction to Communicative English I[2402]

＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

The aim of this course is to improve the students’ general knowledge and abilities to use English across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. While there will be some reading (primarily for modeling language patterns and for establishing the class’s general knowledge of a topic that will serve as discussion content) and writing (to reinforce grammatical formations and vocabulary), “Introduction to Communicative English I” will focus on developing the students’ oral/aural skills in the following areas: greetings and introductions, initial conversations, discerning basic information in everyday settings/survival English (dining, shopping, hotels, transportation settings, directions etc.).

リスニング用に作成された教材だけでなく、様々なソースから生の英語を聞き取るトレーニングをする。
Week 1: 実力テスト
Week 2/3: リスニング用教材から
Week 4/5/6: TV interviews
Week 7/8/9: Movies
Week 10/11/12 TV News
Week 13/14: TBA

＜成績評価方法及び水準＞

期末試験　60%、小テスト・課題・その他　40%
出席が3分の2に満たないものは、成績の如何に関わらず不合格となるので注意のこと
