<成績評価方法及び水準>
Students will be graded on a combination of class effort 60% attendance and some examinations as needed. Attendance will play a large part in the final grade. Final grades will be the result of classroom participation, homework and two oral examinations the first given before summer vacation and the second given at the end of the course.
Students will be graded on improvement so individual effort will play a large part in each student's grade.

<教科書>
A good English-Japanese Japanese-English dictionary will be needed.

<学生へのメッセージ>
Message to students: I really believe that many of the difficulties that students find in communicating in English come from the fact that they are never asked about their own lives and interests. In this class you will be encouraged to speak about yourself your life in Japan and other things that pertain to you. Your grade in this class will depend on how much you try to speak and while you do not have to speak perfectly you will have to make an effort. Good luck.
