＜授業のねらい及び具体的な達成目標＞

英語で書かれた文章を題材に、精読、速読等英文読解力を強化し、かつ自分の理解、意見、解釈を英語で表現できるようになることを目指す。

＜授業計画＞

This course will utilize an integrated skills approach in order to improve the students' English skills. This method will include analyzing materials for content and meaning, orally reporting on the content discovered in the materials and discussing and explaining the points of view derived from the themes and theories in the materials, and writing reports and papers explaining the materials covered and expressing interpretation of said materials.

By the end of the course students must be able to discuss the content of input (listenings/readings) and offer their interpretation for discussion (students must also be able to give a short oral presentation); students must be able to write a well-structured short paper.

The goal of this class is to improve your ability in English across the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). To do this your participation in the class is essential. This means that you must be an active member of the class. You must concentrate fully on all the tasks in class. As you are learners of English you are expected to make mistakes, so do not worry about making mistakes. You should focus on practicing your English. If you do this, your English will improve.
